Mun Kuk CHEONG joined Toonon Partners as the Executive Chairman. He has nearly four decades of experience in the insurance and financial industry with expertise in enhancing the fundamentals and core values of companies. Prior to joining Toonon Partners, He was the Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) of Orange Life Insurance and ING Life Insurance Korea where he led the ING Life’s Initial Public Offering (IPO) which turned out the most successful life insurance IPO in Korea supporting MBK Partners, ING Life Insurance’s shareholder, for their successful exit. Before that, he was the CEO of ACE Life Insurance and Allianz Life Insurance Korea. He successfully launched and implemented AIG Life Korea’s Bancassurance business. Before AIG Life Insurance, he served as Investment and M&A director at AIG Global Investment and Hudson International Advisors Korea. He began his career at First Life Insurance.

Jong Woo James KIM is the President & CEO of Toonon Partners. Before joining Toonon Partners, he was Managing Director & Head of Financial Institutions Coverage at BNP Paribas Korea where he held various key positions for investment banking & capital markets activities from 2010 to 2023. Before joining BNP Paribas, he worked for Fortis Bank in Hong Kong to cover Korean institutional clients for investment/derivatives products & solutions. Before that, he joined Cole Capital Markets in U.S.A to develop its international distribution channels & partnerships. He began his career in the life insurance industry, working for Dongbu Life Insurance and AIG Life Insurance Korea. Currently, He is a member of Financial Center Promotion Committee under Financial Services Commission.
